Dorchester Day 10K Cocktails and Ca$h GOLDEN GALA Florian Hall 55 Hallet Street Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Drawing begins at 7:00 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Dorchester Day Parade Committee. This year, in addition to the drawing we are adding to the excitement. We will have music, dancing, delicious appetizers, and great raffle prizes. Tickets cost $100 each and it includes admission for 2 and one entry in the drawing and $25(each) for general admission without entry into the drawing. Due Date: May 20, 2013 Dorchester Day Parade Committee Essay Contest The Dorchester Day Parade Committee is hosting an essay contest open to all Dorchester children in the 6th through 8th grades or any 6th through 8th grade student that attends a Dorchester school. The Dorchester Reporter is sponsoring this event with two gift card prizes that will be awarded to the winning essays chosen from a panel of local judges. All students that enter the contest will receive an award certificate. The entry and essay must be postmarked by May 20, 2013 to be considered for a prize. May 11, 2013 Little Miss & Young Miss Dorchester Contests First Parish Church 10 Parish Street Dorchester Meetinghouse Hill 2:00 p.m. Little Miss Contestants must be 7-8-9 years old on the day of the contest and Young Miss Contestants must be 10-11-12 years old on the day of the contest. Applications can be downloaded from the forms section of the Dorchester Day Parade website. June 2, 2013 Project D.E.E.P. & Blarney Stone 5K Road Race Starts at the Blarney Stone Restaurant 1509 Dorchester Avenue Fields Corner 10:30 a.m. - Registration 12:15 p.m. - Start A 5K road race from Fields Corner to Lower Mills and back. Sponsored by the Blarney Stone and proceeds to benefit Project DEEP and other organizations. For race info contact Project D.E.E.P. at (617) 635-5027 or visit www.projectdeep.org.
